"An Article By Lee Pritchett"

Scoliosis is one of the common diseases that affects the spine affecting over 12 million
people worldwide. Some people have little affects from it but some of the other people
that have it can be more severe. If untreated, they can suffer from a disfiguring curve
and often a large hump in the back.
Some of the people who have Scoliosis can also suffer from pains and not be able to do
too much work because of the fact that it hurts so bad, but lifting heavy things can also
help out. As long as you follow the correct steps to lifting.
Even if You don't have Scoliosis these steps also help out because of the small disks in
your back. When bending down wrong puts pressure on the disks of your spine which
causes strain to your back and can lead to many problems also one which causes you
to have surgery to your back to repair the broken disks. The proper lifting steps are
listed below.

1.) Always before lifting any object measure out about how much the weight of the object is.
2.) If the Object being lifted is heavier then you can lift absolutely do not try to lift it by yourself. If at work ask someone if they would help you lift it and if they don't want to help find someone that will, but if you are at home and you have no one there ask a neighbor to help, call a friend to come help, or either wait till someone gets home to help.
3.) Always bend with your knees, not your back. (as stated above bending with your back puts strain on the disks of your back.)
4.) Even if the object is an empty box you should still follow step three.

By Following the steps above you can solve the risk of pulling your back, which can lead to back pains which can also lead to surgery. Also by following these steps can help if you suffer from Scholiosis because it keeps you from putting your back in worse shape than it already is. I, myself have scoliosis and my back use to hurt so bad that it was hard to stand it, but then I started working where I had to lift a lot of stuff that was a little heavy and for me it actually helped out. Not saying If you have Scoliosis to go and lift heavy stuff because for some it could hurt you or put your back in worse shape.
Some doctors say there isn't anything you can really do to solve it, but if you come across that and you are in your teens or you are still in your growth spurt just know that there are ways that you can fix Scholiosis without having surgery.

Below I will list a few ways that you can go without having surgery

Scoliosis management for adults and children may include the use of Spinecor; a spinal orthosis (corrective brace) designed to help retrain muscle recruitment patterns while comfortably reducing the Scoliosis. Adult management is still investigational, however, early results are promising.

SpineCor Brace and Boston Brace are two types of bracing treatments that can be used.
